What Is Art Therapy?
Art Therapy is the way through.
Supporting men to get to the root of their problem.
Creative expression, whether it is painting, making music, collaging, drawing, singing etc, is an effective way to get to the root cause of any challenges you are currently experiencing.
•Are you where you want to be in your life?
•Are you quick to anger? Or easily irritated with those around you?
•Do you feel overwhelmed, but not sure why or know what to do with the feeling?
•Have you lost interest or pleasure in your hobbies?
•Do you feel like a failure, like you haven’t done enough, or that you are unloveable?
Let’s make some art. Because, when we keep our hands busy, even with a piece of play doh, or scribbling on some paper, it is easier to process and work through emotions.
In order to have the life that you deserve and to feel your absolute best, we have to understand the root cause of the symptoms. Art provides a new insight into the challenges you might be facing and a way to safely discover what the root cause is.
Creativing art brings what we are feeling inside, to the outside, where we have the opportunity to now change what we see. The brain loves evidence, and when you make changes to your art, your brain recognizes this as changes being made to the emotion/root cause as well.
Over time you will notice: improved confidence, more love and self respect, increased energy and a desire to be your best self.
Why Art Therapy?
1. It is the quickest way to access your inner child- often where our adult challenges are stored.
2. Kinesthetic Movement: simple movement through scribbling prepares the brain for learning while simultaneously offering brain breaks during times of high stress.
3. Healing and long term changes to unhealthy patterns are more impactful.
What Does
a Session Look Like?
In an Art Therapy session you will have access to a variety of art materials. You will be gently guided or encouraged through out the process. Sometimes we might make art just to keep our hands busy, or we will make art to help us understand a situation, pattern or emotion in a different way.
Your art is NEVER judged; it is just a tool to help us see what you are experiencing inside.
